Oak Bluffs
Featured: No
This sweet reproduction Campground cottage brings you the Victorian charm that so typifies Oak Bluffs. It is located only 900 feet from the Lagoon and just 1-1/2 miles to downtown.
The home was designed by an Island architect with future expansion in mind. Presently the house has one bedroom with a second, seasonal detached bedroom/studio. Future expansion to two more bedrooms is made easier because a 3-bedroom septic system is already in place for which a Title V certificate is in-hand.
Built in 1998, the house has top of the line Andersen windows and doors, beautiful wood floors, and custom woodwork and light fixtures. The walls are plaster, the ceiling beadboard, and window treatments hang from hand-forged rods, towels hang on more hand-forged towel rods. The custom kitchen has Corian sink and countertops with mostly Jennair appliances. The main bath has a custom vanity with Corian sink and countertop, and a very large shower area. The house is very well insulated, keeping the home cooler on hot days. In winter, even on the coldest, windiest day the house stays nice and cozy. There is oil heat and hot water and an Electrolux central vacuum system. The plumbing fixtures are all high end; the custom electrical system is extremely flexible, safe, and designed to easily accommodate electronic equipment. The full, dry basement has a Maytag washer and dryer as well as many storage shelves.
Outside is a large 448-square foot wraparound front porch made from cedar and mahogany. The entire area beneath the porch is easily accessible and can be used to store all manner of things. In the back is a large outdoor shower with bluestone underfoot. On the roof are architectural shingles and the house is clad with the finest cedar exterior shingles and trim. The house is appropriately adorned with Victorian gingerbread.
There is a paved driveway with a generous parking area lit by an outstanding antique light fixture. The lovely yard has specimen trees and a berry patch. The detached studio (or second bedroom) was built with the same attention to detail as the main house and sleeps four.
It is a short stroll to the end of the street to the Lagoon via a public access path. It should be noted that neighbors report that a boat mooring in the Lagoon is possible.
Purchase of much of the furniture may also be negotiated although not all items can be included in the sale.
All serious offers will be thoughtfully considered.
